We found out yesterday that Katelyn thinks of her two different dolls in different ways. One is "baby" and one is signed "doll". Doll gets played with and walked around like a stuffed animal except that it's humanoid. Baby is treated like a little baby and goes everywhere with us and does things with Katelyn. One evening baby even flossed, had her teeth brushed, her face washed and dried and then her diaper changed. Baby goes to church with us, shopping with us, just about anywhere with us. She is carefully and lovingly buckled into the car with a seatbelt too.
Conner apparently climbed up onto a box yesterday. It was a low rubbermaid. I need to teach him to go backwards to get down off things now. I don't remember when I taught that to Katelyn. I don't think it was this early though because Katelyn was still rolling around the house instead of crawling.
Conner is sooo close to cruising. I'm sure that I could guide him through it and he'd just go with it but I'm rather selfishly letting him figure it out on his own. He's going to be walking so soon anyways that I don't really need to push it. I'm really going to be in trouble when he does start walking because he's going to get into everything. I'm already having to clean much more then I did with Katelyn.Comments:Add a comment:

Katelyn likes to bake. A lot. We were making rhubarb pie together today and she had so much fun that as I went to feed Conner, she decided to make her own. The rhubarb scraps were carefully put into a bowl and white powder was dumped in and everything was ever so carefully stirred. Unfortunately, she didn't remember that she needed flour and sugar instead of baking powder. And she doesn't understand proportions yet. There was an entire can of baking powder for the few rhubarb slices that were in the bowl. I did take pictures... I'll post them later.
Conner has become a crawling and standing maniac! He can now go anywhere he wants whenever he wants and he'll pull himself up to a stand very easily. Today he used the Ball Blast, the laptop screen, the couch, a chair, and a few other things that I can't remember to stand up with. Cruising is next! I don't think it'll be long before he figures out how to do that.
Katelyn is really enjoying her signing DVD's. Today I found out that one of her dolls is called "baby" (by sign) and the other is called "doll" (by sign). So you have to make sure to get the proper one when she asks. And she happily asks for apples, bananas, cheese, cookies and water when she wants them. When I find out the sign for "hot dog" and "yogurt" then I'm sure she'll be using those too. I think it's time to start teaching her to sign sentences! We're working on "stop please" instead of just "stop". That's a great first step toward sentences.
All this signing is really helping her with her vocal skills too. She's starting to speak the word as she signs it. It's fun to watch.
Tonight Conner fell asleep without nursing or sucking on his pacifier. It was great!Comments:Add a comment:
