Katelyn and Conner decided that the chicken I was cooking was just too long of a wait. So Katelyn decided that she wanted Tacos while they waited. It's reasonable, the chicken just got put into the oven because I forgot that I didn't have onions for it and becuase I was letting it thaw.
I got her out a taco shell (btw... hard shell tacos are usually GF) and then she decided that since I didn't have any taco meat cooked up, she would just use lettuce and cheese. I expected her to get out Eric's salad lettuce but instead she pulled over a chair so she could reach my baby spinach. The two of them are now eating tacos made with baby spinach and cheese in a hard shell. It's really a rather health snack! I was impressed with them for deciding on that.
Katelyn just informed me that the way you eat these is to eat the "taco stuff" first and then eat the shell. Now you know.Comments:Add a comment:

Katelyn just fell and split her lip. She wasn't doing anything unusual, she just hit the floor wrong.
I gave her a popsicle to suck on and encouraged her to suck on it instead of avoiding the cut... her complaint?
"But Mommy, I can't cry if I eat it like that!"
I just had to laugh.Comments:Aunt Laura: What is it with Katelyn and splitting her lip? At least this time, apparently it wasn't split to badly :) I'm glad to hear she is alright!Add a comment:

This is a bummer.
We were planning on going camping with our church this weekend. It's an annual thing but we've not gone before and this year, after seeing how well Pennsic worked with the kids, I decided to go.
Unfortunately, Katelyn got sick on Wednesday night. She seemed great yesterday except for sleeping a lot so I decided that she must have recovered quickly and spent this morning packing. Katelyn was acting great this morning with a renewed appetite and everything.
Then this afternoon she went out shopping with Eric and my mom and she threw up all over everything in Eric's truck.
When I told Conner that we weren't going camping because Katelyn was sick, he first said, "Oooh," very solemnly. Then he thought for a moment and said, "Mommy, Caleb not sick!" When I confirmed this he said, "You, me and Caleb go CAMPING. Kateyn (how he says Katelyn) stay with DADDY!"
Apparently he really enjoys camping. :D
At this point we're going to stay home though. It's supposed to get really cold at night and though I was all packed up for cold nights with extra bedding and super warm pj's, this just pushes things over the edge into not going.
I told Katelyn though that I'd see if there was another (semi-)local SCA camping event that we could go to when she was better.
Her biggest concern was that if her friend Gannon came over, that I tell him that she can't play because she's sick. Since I know his mom reads this (Hi!) I'm pretty confident that he knows this. She's sitting on the couch in her pj's right now watching some Thomas DVDs.Comments:Kimberly: I'll pass that along to her. :D She's doing well today but she'd had a day of doing well in between being sick and my packing. So we're not considering her totally well yet. But I really think she is.Rhonda: (I don't know why it cut off the rest of the message) ThisRhonda: Gannon says to call him when she's feeling better so they can play. :) ThisAdd a comment:
